Duplicate Assistant BETA - Main Enhancement Requests from Reframe Solution:

Add a merge preview/confirmation: Before merging, show the user what the final combined answer will look like so they can review and approve it.
Give users control over what is retained: Allow users to choose the primary answer and retain/edit tags, collections, and alternate answers rather than automatically merging everything.
Differentiate exact vs. similar duplicates: Keep a fast one-click merge for obvious exact duplicates, but require a review workflow for similar content.
Provide an easy undo/recovery option: Users are uncomfortable with the duplicate disappearing immediately after selecting Merge.

Primary customer feedback: The BETA is too automatic for customers doing nuanced library cleanup. They need visibility and control over the final result before the merge is committed.

I have turned off the BETA in the meantime at the customer's request.

Add a merge preview/confirmation - Upon selecting "Merge", are you expecting to show the preview of the updates that will be merged to the primary and then the user can further confirm to proceed for merge?
Give users control over what is retained - If you are referring to the capability to adding few responses or metadata from duplicate to primary, then this feature is available now in August release. I would request the customer to check the same
Differentiate exact and similar duplicates - Are you expecting a merge option in results page for exact duplicates?
Undo - We are discussing about this feature and will keep you posted once we have a timeline for this.

1. Merge preview/confirmation:
Yes, that is exactly the request. After selecting Merge, the customer would like to see a preview of what the final primary response will look like, including the content/metadata being retained or added, and then have a final Confirm Merge action. Her main concern was that the item currently disappears after merging, leaving her unsure whether the final result is what she intended.

2. Control over what is retained:
Thank you for confirming this was added in the August release. I’ll have the customer test the updated functionality. Her specific need was to be able to choose things like “keep this response, but retain this tag/collection from the duplicate” rather than having everything automatically combined.

3. Exact vs. similar duplicates:
Yes. Her feedback was that for exact duplicates, a quick merge option directly from the results page would be helpful because she does not need additional review. For similar duplicates, she would prefer the more detailed review/preview process since those often require decisions about the response and metadata before merging.

4. Undo:
Great, thank you! Please keep me posted on the timeline. This would help address her concern around accidentally merging something and not having an immediate way to reverse the action.
