Customer Context
Oracle maintains large, highly governed Q&A libraries where formatting changes can affect thousands of records. Style updates are necessary over time, but without safeguards they introduce operational risk.
Problem / Opportunity
Today, when a new style is deployed:
- There is no way to revert to a prior, known-good style configuration.
- Issues introduced by a style change require extensive manual correction.
- Admins have limited confidence to make improvements due to the lack of rollback controls.
This increases risk and slows Oracle’s ability to evolve and standardize formatting.
Proposed Enhancement
Introduce style version control with rollback capabilities:
- Automatically create versions when styles are updated or deployed.
- Allow admins to view and compare previous style versions.
- Enable controlled rollback to a selected version if issues are detected.
- Clearly identify which Q&A items are impacted by a rollback.
Success Criteria
- Faster recovery from formatting issues caused by style updates
- Reduced manual remediation effort
- Increased adoption of standardized styles
- Positive Oracle feedback on control and reliability
