I’m submitting this enhancement idea on behalf of our strategic client, Jeppesen ForeFlight.
Overview
• Jeppesen ForeFlight is requesting the ability to select multiple sections or
sub-sections within a Response Project and move the selected items together to
a new location within the project hierarchy.
• Jeppesen ForeFlight proposals can contain hundreds of project sections and
subsections, including multiple manually added Section Templates from their
Content Library.
• Their narrative proposals are ultimately exported to customized Response
Templates, making the final ordering of sections and subsections important for
producing a logical and polished proposal.
Current Challenge
• The current functionality only supports moving one parent section at a time,
along with its associated subsections, using Reorder > Reorder Section
(Bulk Action).
• Individual subsections must be moved one at a time using Manage Sub
Sections.
• For large proposals, achieving the desired final order can require extensive
manual effort and repeated reordering actions.
• This creates inefficiency and increases the risk of sections or sub-sections
being placed incorrectly before the proposal is exported.
Proposed Enhancement
• Add multi select functionality that allows users to select multiple sections or
sub-sections within a Response Project.
• Enable users to move all selected items together to a new location within the
project hierarchy through a bulk reorder action.
• Preserve the selected items and their existing parent and subsection
relationships where applicable during the move.
• Make the functionality available during proposal preparation so users can
efficiently establish the desired final hierarchy prior to export.
Expected Impact
• Significantly reduce the time and manual effort required to organize large
Response Projects.
• Improve usability for customers managing proposals with hundreds of sections
and subsections.
• Reduce the risk of ordering errors in exported customized Response Templates.
• Improve scalability of the Response Project workflow for large and highly
customized proposals.
