I’m submitting this enhancement idea on behalf of our strategic client Optum and the Optum Insight BU.
Overview
• Optum project authors and reviewers use a combination of non-AI Recommendation searches, AI Assistant, and AI Draft when searching for and developing Response Project responses.
• Response Projects currently provide separate project wide filter configuration windows within Project Settings for Answer Library Search and AI Assistant.
• Optum would like these filter configuration experiences to work together so applicable project-wide filters do not need to be configured independently for each search method.
Current Challenge
• Project Owners and team members configure non-AI project wide filters within Response Projects > Project Settings > Answer Library Search.
• AI applicable project wide filters must then be configured separately within Response Projects > Project Settings > AI Assistant.
• When the same filters are applicable to both search experiences, users must manually recreate the filter configuration in the second location.
• This duplication creates unnecessary administrative effort and frustration for project teams, particularly when projects use both traditional Recommendation searches and AI powered tools.
• Optum recognizes that some non-AI filters are not currently supported within AI Assistant and therefore may not be transferable between the two filter configurations.
Proposed Enhancement
• Streamline or combine the Answer Library Search and AI Assistant project wide filter configuration experiences wherever technically applicable.
• When a user opens either project-wide filter configuration window and filters have already been configured in the other window, display a pop up notification informing the user that applicable filters already exist.
• Prompt the user to apply the same supported filters to the current configuration.
• Automatically carry over only filters that are supported by the destination search experience, while preserving any filters that are unique to Answer Library Search or AI Assistant.
• Support this synchronization regardless of whether the user initially configures filters within Answer Library Search or AI Assistant.
• Maintain user control by allowing the Project Owner or team member to accept or decline the suggested filter configuration before changes are applied.
Expected Impact
• Eliminates duplicative project setup work for teams using both non-AI and AI assisted Response Project search capabilities.
• Creates a more consistent project-wide search experience across Recommendation, AI Assistant, and AI Draft workflows.
• Reduces the risk of inconsistent filter configurations that could cause different project authors or reviewers to receive different search results depending on the search method used.
• Improves project team efficiency by allowing applicable filter configurations to be established once and reused across supported search experiences.
• Provides a more scalable configuration model for enterprise clients such as Optum that use multiple response search and authoring methods within the same Response Project.
