I'm raising this enhancement request on behalf of our client Regnology.
Request:
Enable automatic selection of all subsections and the questions within those subsections when a parent (main) section is selected.
Current Limitation:
Currently, when a main section is selected, only the questions directly under that main section are selected. The system does not automatically select its subsections or the questions contained within those subsections. As a result, users must manually expand and select every subsection individually.
This becomes particularly challenging when performing bulk actions, such as assigning an Author or Reviewer. For example, if a main section contains 25 subsections, users must navigate through each subsection and manually select it, making the process repetitive, time-consuming, and prone to missed selections.
Proposed Solution:
Enhance the section selection functionality so that selecting a main section automatically selects:
- All child subsections (recursively, if applicable).
- All questions contained within those subsections.
This behavior should apply to bulk operations such as Author and Reviewer assignments while maintaining consistency across section-based actions.
Benefit to Regnology:
- Significantly reduces the time required for bulk Author/Reviewer assignments.
- Eliminates the need to manually navigate through and select each subsection.
- Improves user productivity and efficiency, especially for large questionnaires with many nested sections.
- Reduces the likelihood of accidental omissions during bulk assignments.
- Provides a more intuitive and user-friendly experience when working with hierarchical questionnaire structures.
