Feature Request
Enable AI to generate answers directly from attached documents or documents stored in the Content / Document Library while creating a new Q&A pair. Similar to the new feature project documents for AI.
Problem Statement
Today, when creating a new Q&A pair, users cannot instruct AI to reference a specific uploaded document or a document already stored in the Document Library to generate an answer. This requires users to manually review source documents and draft responses, even when the information already exists in supporting documentation.
Proposed Solution
When creating a new Q&A pair, provide the ability to:
- Select one or more documents from the Document Library as the source for answer generation.
- Generate an AI assisted answer using only the selected document(s) as context.
- Optionally upload a new document during Q&A creation and have AI use that attachment to generate the initial answer.
- Include citations or traceability back to the source document for validation.
Example Use Case
A user uploads a Vulnerability Management Process document to the Document Library. While creating a new Q&A pair, they ask:
"Describe the organization's vulnerability management process."
The user selects the uploaded Vulnerability Management Process document as the source, and AI generates a draft answer based solely on that document, allowing the user to review and save it directly into the Answer Library.
Business Value
- Reduces manual effort when creating new Q&A content.
- Accelerates onboarding of process and policy documentation into the Answer Library.
- Improves consistency by ensuring answers are generated from approved source documentation.
- Increases confidence in AI-generated responses by limiting the context to selected documents.
- Encourages greater adoption of the Document Library as a trusted source of truth.
