Description:
Currently, comments in Project Templates can only be directed to the template owner. Users are unable to @mention other team members or SMEs within Project Template comments, unlike the full @mention functionality available in active Projects.
This limitation was reported by Lisa O'Neil at Navitus, who noted that her team relies on @mentioning SMEs for assistance with template response updates — a workflow that works in Projects but is blocked in Project Templates.
Expected behaviour:
Users should be able to @mention any team member or SME in Project Template comments, consistent with the behaviour available in active Projects.
Current behaviour:
Comments in Project Templates can only be sent to the template owner. Attempting to @mention other users does not work as expected.
Customer impact:
- Affects all Project Templates, not limited to a single template.
- Forces users to create a full project from the template just to collaborate via comments — adding unnecessary overhead.
