Enhancement Request: Improve Accuracy of Time Tracking Metrics
Current Behavior:
The current duration tracking mechanism appears to calculate total time primarily based on tab activity and navigation behavior. As a result, the recorded metrics may not accurately represent actual user effort or productive work completed within the platform.
Customer Concern:
The customer observed scenarios where approximately 20 hours of time was recorded for answering only 9 questions. Based on their analysis, the recorded duration seems to reflect tab switches or idle screen presence rather than meaningful user interaction. This makes the current timing data unreliable for operational reporting and KPI measurement.
Requested Enhancement:
The customer is requesting an enhancement to move away from passive tab-switch–based tracking and instead adopt a more interaction-driven approach for calculating active working time.
Suggested tracking signals include:
- Active text entry
- Keystrokes
- Mouse interactions/clicks
- Save/update actions
- User engagement within editable fields
Expected Outcome:
An interaction-based tracking model would provide significantly more accurate and actionable time metrics, enabling customers to rely on the data for:
- Productivity measurement
- KPI reporting
- Operational analysis
- Resource/time utilization tracking
Business Impact:
The current behavior reduces customer confidence in the timing metrics and limits the usability of the feature for performance analysis and reporting purposes.
