Requested By: Fortrea Team (Kate Woods - kate.howson@fortrea.com)
Priority: High
Summary:
Request to enhance Past Project Search functionality by allowing flexibility in selecting date fields (Created Date / Completed Date) instead of relying solely on “Last Updated Date,” and to modify how the “Last 6 months” filter is calculated.
Description:
Currently, the Past Project Search feature displays and filters projects based on the Last Updated Date. However, this date can be influenced by both user-driven and system-driven actions (e.g., metadata updates, permission changes, syncs, archival actions), which may not reflect meaningful project activity.
This behavior is causing confusion for users, especially when archived projects show recent “Last Updated Dates” despite no actual content updates. As a result, users find it difficult to determine the relevance and accuracy of project content.
Requested Enhancements:
- Configurable Date Field in Past Project Search
- Ability to switch the displayed date field from:
- Last Updated Date → Created Date or Completed Date
- This would help users better assess project relevance and timeline.
- Update “Last 6 Months” Filter Logic
- Provide an option to base the filter on:
- Completed Date (preferred) or Created Date
- Instead of the current behavior, which is based on Last Updated Date.
Business Impact:
- Improves usability and clarity when searching past projects.
- Reduces confusion caused by system-driven updates affecting timestamps.
- Enables teams to make better decisions based on accurate project timelines.
- Particularly important for teams that rely heavily on Past Project Search for content reuse and validation.
Current Limitation:
- Date field in Past Project Search is fixed to “Last Updated Date.”
- “Last 6 months” filter is calculated based on Last Updated Date only.
- No configuration available to modify these behaviors.
