Related Words

Does anyone use the related word feature to optimize their search results? If so, do you have any examples that have really improved your search functionality?

I've found that acronyms are a good example - for instance SAAS and software as a service.

@Helene Acronyms and abbreviations are probably the examples I see most often. There may be times where your product name is written out, and other times where it will be abbreviated somehow.

We use the related words for US English/UK English, like color vs colour, analyze vs analyse, etc. We also use it for abbreviations.

We are using for abbreviations and product names. Additionally there are specific industry terms that relate to our products or solutions, so we've added those to boost search results and recommendations.

We do use related words. Some for abbreviations, but also for words related to our industry. For example, we have related words for patient & consumer, and care plan/treatment plan/service plan, system administrator/super user, data migration/data conversion, etc. We haven't had the related words set up for very long.
