I'm raising this request on behalf of our client Enterprise Cigna Corporation.
Request:
Enable the Excel import/mapping functionality to configure two or more Questions on the same row (in parallel columns) within a workbook tab, rather than restricting Questions to a single-per-row, one-below-another layout. Current
Limitation:
With the current Excel column-mapping functionality, two Questions cannot be mapped on the same row or in parallel across columns. Questions can only be configured one below another (stacked vertically).
As a result, Cigna is unable to configure certain tabs in their MMA Project Template workbooks, where multiple questions are laid out side-by-side across the same row.
Proposed solution:
Extend the Excel mapping engine to recognize and map multiple Question fields positioned in parallel on the same row (across different columns), so workbooks structured with side-by-side questions can be imported and configured without restructuring the source file.
This would allow horizontal (multi-column) question layouts to be mapped alongside the existing vertical layout.
Interim workaround: configure the entire table/tab as a single Answer rather than as individual Questions. (I am also checking internally for any additional workaround per Christopher's request.)
Benefits to Cigna:
- Removes a recurring blocker — Cigna encounters this side-by-side question structure frequently across their MMA Project Template workbooks, so this is not a one-off.
- Eliminates manual rework of restructuring source files or falling back to the "whole table as Answer" workaround, which loses question-level granularity.
- Supports a strategic, long-tenured enterprise account (76-month customer, ~$350K ARR, MJR segment) and improves the import experience raised through their Strategic CSM.
- Reduces future support volume by natively supporting a common real-world workbook structure.
