Why do we measure this?
Comparing projects created and completed over time can help identify workload trends, capacity constraints, and potential backlog risk across your team.
Below is an example chart of what you may see in your reporting:
Definitions of what is tracked
- Projects Created: number of projects created in a period, regardless of status
- Projects Completed: total projects with a status of completed
Suggested actions to take
Let's take a look at this specific example. If you see a dip in projects, this is a perfect time to update your content library. When teams are busy with high RFP volumes, the content library may be a secondary priority. Increasing content library efforts to align with low project volumes keeps library maintenance flowing when your team is actually available.
Tracking your implementation of these changes is easy when you combine project findings with your Content Library Health findings. See the last post in this series for that information.
Marking projects as complete allows Responsive to calculate the %ARR influenced and your ROI multiplier. Tracking this data will help you further understand where you win, allowing you to modify or expand your focus. By doing so, you can drive meaningful progress toward your business objectives.
