Current Behavior:
Guest users are currently able to @mention only the Project Primary Contact (PPC). They are unable to @mention other project members , collaborators, reviewers, or subject matter experts within the project.
Business Impact:
The customer has multiple guest users who collaborate on projects and would benefit from being able to directly notify relevant project members. The current limitation restricts communication workflows and requires guests to route all notifications through the PPC, which can create delays and additional coordination effort.
Requested Enhancement:
Allow guest users to @mention project members other than the PPC within project comments , discussions, and collaboration areas.
Expected Behavior:
- Guest users can search for and @mention authorized project members .
- Mentioned users receive the appropriate notifications.
- Organizations may optionally have administrative controls to determine whether guest users can @mention all project members or only specific roles .
Use Case:
When external stakeholders or guest collaborators are reviewing project content, they often need to ask questions or request clarification from specific contributors. Allowing direct @mentions would streamline collaboration and reduce dependency on the PPC as an intermediary .
Customer Feedback:
"I would appreciate you raising an enhancement request on our behalf."
Priority/Impact:
Medium–High. This enhancement would improve collaboration efficiency for organizations that frequently work with guest users and external stakeholders.
