Team - I have logged this request before - but I just got the same feedback on a Trial earlier today, where I was using new UI.
Participants indicated that the way we currently display Authors on the Project Answering page is both hard to see and non-intuitive. We use the red bubble with a number in it - see 1st screenshot They asked why we don't use Avatars, as we do on the Section screen.
Here is my recommendation, re-arrange the order of the icons, and use Avatars. This is in my opinion, far more intuitive and clear. (There also appears to be plenty of real estate to show way more than 2 authors in this way. See 2nd screenshot

Hi Keith,
We have done it to avoid more space utilization. We have many options like Flagging, comments, three dot menu, clarifications and other options which will clutter the UI, If there are more number of authors. We are showing the avatars when we click on it.
Thanks,

Hi Deepan. Thanks for the response. Yes, I am aware of the reasons, which both Product and Wayne have shared previously. I do understand the desire to keep it simple.
But I will tell you that by far the most important information for customers when looking at a question, especially when collapsed, is to immediately see to whom those questions are assigned. It is really not practical to do that via a hover, they want to see it directly. In addition, the red bubble convention is used across other applications to show something "New" or "Changed" - in this situation, that is not the case.
In my experience, Assigning Authors/Reviewers are used far more frequently than Clarifications and even Flags, so if anything, you may want to deprioritize those. Again, there appears to be plenty of space to show multiple avatars without cluttering it visually.
Thanks again for your consideration. Don't worry, I won't post about this one again, I know you understand how I feel about it! :-)

Hi Keith,
Thanks I do agree with that. I will check with the Wayne and Raghu how we can improve the visibility of Assigned Authors and Reviewers.
Thanks,
