Summary:
Customers using the deduplication report can currently see which Q&A pairs are different at a section level, but the tool does not indicate exactly what text differs. Customers are requesting word-level highlighting so they can quickly identify the specific differences between similar questions and answers.
Current Behavior:
In the deduplication report:
- The system identifies Q&A pairs as different
- Sections of the compared Q&A are highlighted
- However, the user must manually read both versions to determine what actually changed
For very similar questions and answers, the differences are often subtle, and locating them requires careful rereading.
Requested Behavior:
When comparing Q&A pairs in the deduplication report, the interface should:
- Highlight the exact words or phrases that differ between the two versions
- Visually indicate additions, removals, or modifications (similar to document comparison/track changes)
- Allow users to immediately understand how the responses differ without manual review
User Value / Impact:
Customers rely on this report to consolidate similar content. Without clear visibility into the specific changes:
- Deduplication takes significantly longer
- Users hesitate to merge entries because they fear losing important details
- They must manually compare each question and answer line by line
Word-level highlighting would allow users to confidently and quickly determine whether two Q&A pairs are truly duplicates or contain meaningful differences.
