I’m submitting this enhancement idea on behalf of our strategic client, Microsoft.
Overview
Microsoft has thousands of Responsive users, and many are not fully familiar with the various options available in the Response Projects mapping toolbar. They are requesting an enhancement to include contextual guidance directly within the interface to improve usability and reduce confusion.
Current Challenge
- Users frequently question the purpose and correct usage of mapping options such as Description, Help Text, and Label.
- Project Managers often seek clarification on the function of Split and Merge options and how to apply them correctly.
- The absence of in-app guidance creates inconsistency in how projects are mapped and requires additional training or support.
Proposed Enhancement
- Add a small information (“i”) icon next to each mapping toolbar option within Response Projects.
- When users hover over or click the icon, a brief tooltip should appear explaining the option’s purpose and recommended use cases.
Expected Impact
- Reduces user confusion and dependency on external training materials.
- Improves consistency and accuracy in how users map sections, questions, and answers across projects.
- Enhances overall user experience and adoption, especially among Microsoft’s large user base.
