Linda Welsey from Dynatrace have provided the below feedback and stated that she is concerned of the Tag names getting displayed inconsistently.
Below is her Email regarding this.
Tag displays in the Content Library new UI are simply not sufficient.
Tags are a key element used to organize library content and provide visual cues to users searching for information. Our library is used to complete RFP and security questionnaire projects, and is also available to all Dynatrace employees as a content repository. Most content today is security focused, but we intend to expand content and usage in the near future. We need to ensure the library works well for the expert user as well as the casual user. As we learn more about the Content Library new UI (and how information is represented throughout RFPIO), we are forced to rethink our library structure and determine next steps for a successful rollout of the new UI.
In the new UI, tags appear to have been moved to a lower focus -- displaying only about 10 characters, displaying a limited number of tags (thus removing the quick visual cues), and appearing differently in various locations in RFPIO.
Examples: (All images attached)
- Q&A pairs in the library itself display only 3 tags.
- Q&A pairs in moderation display 1 tag.
- Q&A pairs in review display 2 tags.
- To my complete surprise, the Recommendation Engine within a project displays 3 tags -- with complete tag names!
- Unfortunately, RFPIO LookUp in Outlook displayed no tags. This appears to be the same in classic UI. Tags were also not available in View Properties.
- Tags were only visible in Answer Library View (via "Open in new window"). And again, to my surprise, the complete tag names were displayed!
Please note that my bigger concern is the overall approach to tags in the new UI. In the classic UI, all tags were displayed and complete tag names were included. This provided visual cues that allowed you to quickly scan the Q&A pairs to find (or confirm) the correct content. In the new UI, only 1-3 tags are displayed and only partial tag names are included. This removes visual cues for the user and forces them to add extra clicks on individual Q&A pairs to find the information they need. Quick scanning is no longer an option.
This is a significant design change that also forces your customers to redesign their tags and reeducate their users. Please pass this information to the design team. I hope they consider changing this approach.
Please check and let me know if this is feasible for our future updates or if it is already a work in progress.
Best,
Sumana
