SCENARIO/CONTEXT:
My customer Stepstone often carries more than one response in their records. These alternate responses are situational and often have specific use cases for when they would be deployed.
With the current implementation of the verbatim function, if you have a project question with a single response field, verbatim/AI applies ALL of the potential responses from the verbatim record into the field, necessitating the end-user to then do some significant clean-up deleting out the unneeded responses. If this is applied over an entire project with numerous questions, it can add notable time with the clean-up.
Only if the response headers/fields in a project question match the verbatim-marked record, will they portion themselves out accordingly but that will be less common and is a better fit for multi-response records with a Dropdown + Additional Comments configuration rather than an alternate response use case.
IDEA:
Stepstone asked, and I see the value in it, of being able to also specify a verbatim response within the library record - EXAMPLE: if we have record with Detailed response and short response options, but Short is the one used most frequently, the admin/owner could mark just the short answer as the verbatim option so that it is applied and this would prevent unnecessary extra content from landing in the response field.
Ideally, our support involves keeping verbatim at the record level as it is now for more simple records that have only one response field or more combined options (i.e. dropdown + additional comments) but having the option to drill down further and mark a specific response as the verbatim selection.
