I was alerted to this issue by my customer Hellman & Friedman. When using annotations recently but also trying to address a content format clean-up and overhaul, they found that existing annotations are wiped out when they manually apply a new style to the content.
I found through testing that using the bulk 'format content' function does preserve the annotation through a style change in the new UI. Adding the capability to retain an annotation through all style changes whether bulk process or manually-applied would be a time saver and prevent users from having to recreate all annotations when manually changing styles. I believe this is important as manual effort is still needed for more complex-arranged Q&A records when multiple styles are involved (i.e. sub-headers, bullet list styles, etc). Thanks!
