Currently, you can only require CL custom fields for Q&A Pairs. Cofomo would like to be able to require fields for "All," but more specifically, Q&A pairs and Documents.
From Satish in Slack: Required preference is shown only for Q&A pairs. Not for Documents, Sections, Catalogs, ALL.
Reason: In the beginning, when the product was named as "Answer Library" it had only Q&A pairs and the required preference was only available for Q&A pairs. Later when other content type was added (Documents, Sections and Catalogs) the required preference was not added for those content type. Hence while selecting "ALL" (Since it contains all content type) the required preference is not shown.
