- There is today no notion of ‘Draft Response’. So you can’t pre-answer manually or provide via Auto-Respond and have any clue in the UI that drafts have been prepared.
- Manually pre-answered questions do not show up in the Section List view – there is no visual indication that someone has drafted any response. So it’s hard to track progress.
- Worse still is that if you do use Auto Respond that they appear ‘marked as answered’ even though no one has really had a proper look at them. They should really be in a ‘draft state’, subject to a further efforts prior to the Review process.
So ideally we would like a ‘Mark as Draft’ in addition to the ‘Mark as Answered’ when providing responses - so that we can report on how many have been draft answered and how many have been finally answered ‘done done’.
The ‘In Progress’ egg-timer icon/status in the Section List page tells you nothing really – an author can enter the input field on a Question and do pretty much nothing and this is then seen as ‘in Progress’ – it is not an identifier of a ‘Draft Response’ status. There is no representation of how many questions in draft in the columns, only Answered and Reviewed. So we have no clue on the actual progress of in-flight projects.
Similarly on the Project Dashboard page – we have no clue about how many questions have been responded in ‘Draft’, not yet marked as ‘Answered’
And finally, when in a Section at the Question level (even with the flyout menu open), there is again no indication that anything has been pre-answered or has a draft-response (when in fact they all have answers in draft state)…
So, the other way we were hoping to address this issue, was to take advantage of your proposed ‘Sequential Authoring’ – as this would allow us to see, hopefully, at-a-glance who has pre-answered and who has finally-answered or yet to finally answer (prior to the Review process).
This is the process we are trying to achieve…
