A significant (albeit seemingly simple) enhancement to existing Catalog functionality would allow the following 2 scenarios, and would eliminate much of the workarounds and 'clunkiness' of using this feature:
- A Catalog formula field may include text strings and regular expressions as part of the formula, perhaps indicated by "" or other syntax
- A Catalog formula field may include references to fields from the current or other Catalogs and merge tags, by using the standard syntax: [catalog...] [field1] syntax. Ex: [catF(x)...profile]
The desired use cases include:
- Customer wishes to house multiple field values for each Catalog item, which would be displayed together in a desired format.
** For ex: [catF(x)...profile] == [cat...itemname] " includes " [cat...description] " and has been offered for " [catF(x)...years] \linebreak [cat...image]
- Customer wishes to list multiple such Catalog items, as selected in Proposal Builder using syntax within the Section Template such as:
Product Profiles:
[cat1...profile]
[cat2...profile]
[cat3...profile]

I see that this is partially implemented - do we know which release and also, do we have any documentation on this?
