Even though we would all love to be the prime on every contract, we understand that being a subcontractor is part of the business. When you are a subcontractor and at the mercy of the prime how do you coordinate their schedule with yours in RFPIO?
Hi Tabitha! It sure is challenging being the subcontractor on these bids and can really make for a compressed turnaround time. When I was responding to bids as a sub, I used the due date assigned by the prime for our work as our bid due date and worked back from there on my timeline. Of course that sometimes left us with a short turnaround! If the prime is doing a kickoff and including subs, it's a great time to talk through expectations and deadlines if you feel it's not workable.
