Hello,
In speaking with a client, Blackboard, I was asked if as a task is completed in RFPIO, it could automatically trigger completion of a project stage or, for the purposes of this S4, what I would like to call a production stage.
Currently, projects are tracked more like opportunities: draft, submitted, won, lost, which are important to keep for reporting. But within the draft stage, we may see other "production" stages: kick-off, outline, draft, review, printing, shipping, etc.
I understand we could track those production stages as a custom field, but I'm wondering if it would be possible to tie tasks to those stages so that as a task correlated to a stage is completed, the project moves into the next production stage?
Some good reasoning for this from the customer: "We like to monitor the workload of the bid team. We know how many bids a BRM has at any one time but its useful to know where in the lifecycle they are with each bid. We look at this, and things like planned PTO or bid complexity, when we assign new bids, so at busier times, we can make sure we aren't overloading BRM's and using the resources in the most efficient way. So really we are looking for enhanced visibility into the process."
