Hi team, tested this in a couple of instances. When a review cycle is scheduled for a past date or today's date, there is no email notification being sent to the owner. The expected behavior might be to use On Demand Review which does send notifications for the same day. However, clients who do not have it enabled (or who are not used to that workflow) will likely expect an email to go out on review cycles set for current or past dates.

Tim,
The email notifications for schdued review will be trigegred only on the task creation. Eventhough if you set yesterday, the task creation is a daily digest process which will happen daily during IST. So once the process is done, the email notification will be triggered, that is the reason there is an delay in email notification. We try to overcome this, we wil check the fesability and will get back to you.
