PROD-I-498 Auto Save feature (Submitting on behalf of Better.care)

Project => Authors responding to questions/Reviewers add/remove content => Auto Save feature

The current system behavior allows multiple authors to respond simultaneously to a question when a question is assigned to more than one author. As soon as an author saves the answer, the other authors in the section/question will receive a message after 20 seconds of saving the answer. You can accept the edits made by another author and override your response by selecting ACCEPT INCOMING CHANGES. However, the customer do not want to lose the changes they have already made when accepting edits from another author. Their requirement is auto save the changes on flow, kind of draft record.

Hi Sathish,

Thanks for submitting the idea. I am not able to understand the requirement clearly. Can you please elaborate why do they needd auto save while doing concurrent edits.

Netcall has requested the same functionality. Essentially the current user experience only allows you to accept another user's changes and overwrite your own or reject them and keep yours. Allowing for concurrent editing kinda like Word or Google Docs would allow users to work seamlessly within a question. If that isn't feasible then extending the compare and merge functionality with editing capability would be a good compromise. This would allow the users to save both responses or potentially an edited version.

@Christopher Google doc like concurrent edit is the solution we are also thinking but we do not have a timeline for this implementation. We will let you know when we plan to implement it.

Not in the roadmap. We have started exploring concurrent edit (similar to GDoc). But do not have a definite timeline when we will implement it. Anticipating this in first half of 2026 (Internal date and not customer commitment date)
