Marking a Section as Answered in Projects (Without Counting the Questions w/ No Answers)

Hi there! As we bring more and more RFPs into the Projects tool, our team is looking for a way to mark an entire section of questions as "answered." We've found out how to select an entire section and mark it as "answered" under "more" at the top and then "answer questions." We had hoped that this bulk apply would have weeded out questions that have no text or dropdown option selected, since they're clearly unanswered. Unfortunately, the system marks even completely blank answers as "answered."

Is there any way to filter by questions that have text in them and only mark those questions as answered? Or would a proposal writer have to select all the answered questions manually and then bulk apply the "answered" label to them? We have hundreds of questions per RFP and going one at a time is slowing down the process tremendously.

Hi Julia!

I am not seeing a way to filter by questions with text in the answer field, however you can narrow your project down to questions that have blank answer fields by using Quality Check.

This is how the workaround could look:

1. Mark all of your questions as Answered (you can be selective about your sections here if you aren't applying to the full project).

2. Run Quality Check (more information in this course: https://academy.responsive.io/student/activity/2845415-quality-check?sid=c66f7d97-cd22-4be2-9de3-3ee94fdec673&sid_i=0#/) ). Only select Missing Responses.

3. Responsive will locate all answers with missing responses. Select Review when ready.

4. Bulk select the answers, then select More > Answer Questions > Update the answer status to Not Answered.

Now you should have a better view of what is answered vs not! While this does require a few steps, I hope that this workflow takes a fraction of the time for you. We'll take your scenario to the product team as feedback in the meantime!
