APPSPACE is a customer who is looking to connect to Salesforce through a non-traditional path that Responsive has not connected to before. This is the customers desired state, and cannot rollout Responsive to their Sales team until the integration is configured.
This is a new use case where the Salesforce user profile is configured as an Integration User with API-only permissions and does not have application/UI access. When this user is used for the Salesforce integration, an “Insufficient Permission” error is encountered.
We need to evaluate the feasibility of supporting API-only Integration Users and determine whether any changes are required on the Responsive side. If the user have to use the Responsive salesforce the user should have console (salesforce UI) permission.
Internal Note:
Currently, the Salesforce integration uses the OAuth Web Server Flow. To support an API-only Integration User, we need to evaluate the appropriate alternative OAuth flow and identify the changes required in the existing implementation.
Feasibility to adapt with existing OAuth implementation was not possible.
