Summary
Integrating Responsive with multiple SharePoint Server (on-premises) sites is essential for HPE Global Sales successful rollout.
Many enterprise organizations operate hybrid SharePoint environments where content is distributed across multiple on-premises SharePoint sites owned by different business units. While Responsive currently supports SharePoint Online integrations, enterprise customers also need the ability to connect to SharePoint repositories hosted on premises.
In addition, the integration should support indexing and retrieving content from Microsoft Word .docm (macro-enabled) documents, as these file types are commonly used in enterprise proposal processes.
Business Need
At HPE, SharePoint integration is a critical dependency for our global rollout of Responsive. Our proposal content resides across numerous SharePoint repositories, many of which are intentionally hosted on premises as part of our long-term enterprise architecture.
As they continue expanding Responsive across Global Sales and additional business units, each organization may have its own on-premises SharePoint environment. To support enterprise-scale adoption, Responsive needs the ability to integrate with multiple on-premises SharePoint sites rather than a single repository or deployment model.
Additionally, a significant portion of our proposal content is stored as .docm (macro-enabled Word) documents. These files contain proposal content and standardized templates that are actively used by our teams. For the integration to deliver meaningful business value, it must be able to index and retrieve content from these documents, rather than requiring manual conversion to another file format.
Business Impact
Without this capability:
- Users cannot access trusted proposal content stored in existing on-premises SharePoint repositories.
- Proposal content stored in .docm documents cannot be surfaced through Responsive AI.
- Enterprise adoption is slowed because users expect Responsive AI to retrieve content directly from their existing knowledge repositories.
- Scaling Responsive across additional business units becomes increasingly difficult as each team maintains its own SharePoint environment.
