Description:
When content is exported, edited, and re-imported using the Import Updates feature, custom style assignments are lost. The content reverts to "Normal" style instead of retaining its original custom style name and assignment.
This issue is particularly impactful for customers using custom templates (e.g., the Hines Template), where custom styles are not available in the default template's Styles menu.
Current behaviour:
- Exported content lists custom-styled items as "Normal" in the default template.
- After editing and re-importing via Import Updates, custom style assignments are removed entirely.
- The only workaround is to manually add custom styles to the default template and reapply them – a repetitive, time-consuming process.
Expected behaviour:
- Both the custom style formatting (appearance) and the custom style name/assignment should be preserved through the export → edit → import cycle.
- Ideally, content should be exportable into a custom template so that styles are retained end-to-end without manual intervention.
Business impact:
- Affects workflow efficiency for customers with custom templates.
- Requires manual rework on every import update cycle.
