Description:
When a catalog connected to a catalog structure is deleted from the Content Library, the catalog structure continues to show the catalog as connected until it is permanently deleted from the trash. This causes confusion for users performing catalog maintenance, as they expect the catalog structure to update automatically when an item is deleted (even if it remains recoverable in trash).
Current Behavior (By Design):
- Catalogs deleted from the Content Library remain linked within catalog structures until they are permanently removed.
- The catalog structure view is only refreshed after the catalog is deleted from the trash.
Proposed Enhancement:
- Update the catalog structure to dynamically reflect the deletion status of catalogs, even when they are moved to trash.
- Optionally, display a “deleted/in trash” indicator or strike-through label in the catalog structure to preserve recovery options while providing accurate visibility.
Customer Impact:
- Causes confusion during catalog cleanup and restructuring activities.
- Forces users to permanently delete catalogs (removing recovery options) just to maintain an accurate structure view.
- Adds manual overhead and risk — users are creating local backups before deleting catalogs.
Customer Ask:
Enable catalog structures to automatically recognize and reflect the deletion (or trash) state of catalogs without requiring permanent deletion.
