Has anyone changed over to heirarchical tags. How did you manage the process? What worked well? What didn't?
Yes we previously used Custom Fields to identify our many products and product sub-categories. Using Tags in different colours made it much easier to see what product a Q&A pair was for. We just use Parent & Child tags in different colours. The rest of the Tags remain in Blue. Adding new Q&A pairs is much quicker when we add a Tag rather than select a custom Field. Advanced searching is more efficient as you have the any or all options for Tags and you don't have to add the filters for the Custom Fields. To ensure we didn't end up with a 'million' Tags, we created more collections as well. No downsides so far, has been popular with the Team. Because we replaced the Custom Fields with the Tags, the process only took a few hours. The team was able to test the proposal for a few weeks beforehand after it was presented in a Monthly meeting.
I hope that makes sense and helps?
