Ability to include links to cited sources in the exported version of the project

Microsoft would find it helpful to save cited sources by AI into the Q&A pair as a reference. This will help them understand what resources were used to draft the final answer.

The user wants to evaluate the Sources at a future time, but doesn’t have time to validate all the sources right now. A Source Q&A might have a more complete answer than what ASK generates. It also may have Alert text that the user wants to review separately. Or it may have a table or a graphic that the user wants to capture. By having the links to the Sources, the user can take action on this in the future. We need to be able to use this in Projects and be able to Export it.

Perhaps a quick idea would be to have a button Copy the Source links – all Q&As, Documents, and any external sites so later the customer can paste it as a reference in the Q&A comments?

@Gosia Rios I am trying to understand Microsoft's problem. - In a Project, they are using AI Assistant and AI Draft to respond to questions. AI will be using Q&A pairs and Documents in the Content Library to generate answer and the referenced content/sources/citations will also be shown. They then apply the AI generated answer. Later, they come back to a question which was answered by AI and trying to find what source did AI used to generate the answer. Here is where they are expecting the sources/citations to be available for them to quickly refer to.

Please confirm if my understanding is correct?

If yes, we do show the citations/sources used by AI on clicking on the icon. Can we recommend this?

@Khalees V Microsoft is aware of where to find the cited sources across Responsive AI. The issue is exporting the draft *and* exporting the sources that were used for AI-generated answers.

Especially for their Kickstart service, they are sending a draft to internal customers and asking that they take it from stage draft to final. They cite that they are not the technical experts, and thus responses need to be validated and cited srouces reviewed. They PCOE team provides the sources, where they found the answers, in their exported Excel or Word RFP response.

It is a manual effort the team does by finding the cited sources links int he CL and pasting into the exported document.

I believe that majority of clients still do some reviewing/tweaking done after export and collaborate with other teams. Links to cited sources would be very helpful.

Can you elaborate what you mean by "exporting the draft" - My understanding is to export the Q and A in the answering page to Excel or Word along with the citations.

@Khalees V , I am still waiting for the exported document sample for Microsoft. In the meantime I wanted to share this info they sent to me:

"Our primary use case is when using AI Draft. We don’t complete the RFP Response in Projects, we export the draft to our internal customer and they complete it outside Responsive. Hence, we need to provide them an easy way to see the sources that were used for each answer.In planning this enhancement, it would also be great to be able to easy copy Ask Sources and AI Assistant sources (multiple QnA links often) with one copy motion in order to paste them somewhere."

Can you please provide an update if this is something we are already considering?

@Gosia Rios Thanks for sharing the recording. They need a quick way to export the sources as links, so the offline reviewers can click the link and verify the source contents. Also, i assume they are exporting to word template.

Do you think if we can provide those sources as links in the Project Report (Menu > Project Report)?

@Gosia Rios Planning to add citations used by AI Assistant and AI Draft in Response Project as one of the columns in the Project Report. I will work with the team and get back to you on Thursday with an ETA to get this done.

@Khalees V , I think I already communicated via Slack but also sharing here for tracking purposes. The approach of included cited sources in the project report would meet MSFT requirements.

Update - Added source column in the Project Report. This will be rolled out to production on 3 July.
