ability to add metadata when importing documents

Hi Team,

Computacenter brought this to my attention. Not all user roles can add metadata when importing documents, they must have Edit All permissions. It would be great if all roles could add metadata when importing documents, as this is how it works for Q&A pairs, and it makes it so that moderators do not have to add all metadata.

@Bruce Duffett As of now only admins and Super admins can add metadata while importing a document, we have this in our pipeline, we will keep you posted on the updates once we scope this to development. Thank you.

@VISWA S do we have a timeline for this? Computacenter keeps asking, they're getting a littel discouraged

Does that mean whoever has access to import the document, they should also have the access to add metadata information for the Q&A. If yes, We can plan it in Q3,2025

Another client request Manager/Team members have access to add metadata when importing documents to the library. This from Herman Kissel of Proximus:
May I suggest the Help Center should mention it as well, along with the “why” behind it. It seems a little odd, since this role can add Q&A’s plus metadata, but can add Documents too, but only without metadata. I’m somehow lost in this reasoning.
