Sequential Authoring in Projects

I know there are a few S4s floating around on this topic but wanted to revive.

Fortrea would greatly benefit from sequential authoring. While their case is extreme, they may sometimes have 15+ users authoring a single question or section. Even with the alternate solutions of tasks, comments, and activity monitoring, this many people causes so much confusion on who has added what and when. I'd really like to see us prioritize this for them, especially where we can currently do it in review.

Their author and review process is pretty elaborate and they lean more on section templates than a traditional Q&A pair. We're happy to chat through this with a product manager on a call to ensure the importance of this is relayed appropriately.

@Kristen Lupo Sequential author is under consideration but we do not have a definite timeline for implementation. Keep you informed when we add to the roadmap.

Thanks, Scott. Keep you informed when we consider it in future. @Scott Do you know why Fiserv needs this feature? How many authors will work in sequence and how the authoring work is categorized among the authors in the sequential review?

Great questions, @Khalees V . Fiserv needs this feature due to the nature of the questionnaires that they receive. Their team of SMEs is broken down in a way that only a select group of SMEs can answer each part of the question, and how those questions flow is dependent upon the answers. So, it would first go out to group A, which could have for example 3 SMEs. After they have answered, the next part of the question would need to go out to group B, which could also have multiple SMEs

@Scott Can you share an example question from Fiserv? Just curious to know how questions determine the sequential authoring process? Also, thinking how each group of SMEs will be informed about their responsibilities. Did Fiserv share any details on this?

@khalees - Here is an example of why sequential authoring would be useful for Netcall:

Regarding people working on an answer at the same time. This is the problem – if I’m working a response and someone comes in and starts editing while I’m editing, I lose control of whether my edits are saved and vice versa. And when it asks you the question: ‘to ignore or accept’, it doesn’t show what has been changed. We have all lost work multiple times with this feature.
