User based restriction for project documents

Hello Team:

I submit this idea on behalf of my customer Konica Minolta, and it is highly time sensitive and a major road blocker for them.

In their workflow, documents are maintained in a project document folder, each folder being specific to different categories. Some of these documents contain highly confidential information, and the groups need to be restricted. Currently, our system has no user-based restrictions, prompting the temporary solution of password-protecting these files. Unfortunately, due to the design of our system, we face the limitation of not being able to preview these password-protected files. This poses a serious challenge without adequate solutions. We must address this as our priority. We kindly request your thoughts and urgent guidance on this request.

Are they looking for restricting project documents only within the project team, so admins not part of the project cannot get into the project and view the documents?
Are those documents attachments to questions? Do you know if they want to restrict to section attachments visible only to the authors and reviewers part of the section and and from other sections within the project.

Please Note: The above questions are just to better understand the problem and this does not mean that we will be adding it to our roadmap. We will consider it if we receive similar feedbacks in future.

@Tausif Ali Regarding this feedback, i connected with Sathish last week. I conveyed my take that I will consider in future if we receive similar ask from our other Customers. Also told him to reach out to Bharath and Sunder if we it's a real blocker for them and has to addressed immediately.

@khalees The request is not clear. Were you able to capture the notes from your conversation with @Sathishkumar GK in Jira, or somewhere? Did Konica Minolta create a dummy project just to organize documents? This is what it sounds like from the original request text.

@AJ Sunder I had call with Sathish two weeks back and sharing their requirement below

In the project document tab, they are uploading the documents to be used as reference by the proposal team to answer questions in the project.
Such documents are grouped into Folder such as "Pricing" etc.,
Then they would like to restrict the visibility of Folders to certain users within the project team. So only authorized users can view or use the document as reference to respond to questions in project.

To your question: Did Konica Minolta create a dummy project just to organize documents? No.
