Hi there! I'm Kyle a Proposal Manager with 3 years of RFP Experience

Hi all,

I'm excited to join the Responsive Community. I've been doing RFPs for 3 years and a new thing we just started doing for our RFP submissions is including a Thank You video from our Sales Rep. We've found success in doing this as it differentiates ourselves from the competition and is a nice personal touch in a digital world.

Is anyone else doing anything similar?

@Kyle Prost WELCOME! A video sounds like a great way to add a personal touch to your proposal submission. Are you adding it to your submission email or do you embed it in the Cover Letter?

@Kyle Prost I am curious how you do this as well. We sometimes include custom videos, but it is usually not part of the RFP process, we send them throughout the sales cycle using Consensus. (@Susanne Are there any plans in the roadmap to integrate with Consensus?)

@Beth Bissell I have reached out to our product team to see if Consensus is on our roadmap. I will let you know what I find out.

This is really interesting, would like to know if anyone else has this use case with Consensus or any other they are using Consensus videos in their Response Process.

Very interesting! I've actually found the opposite to be mostly true during my ~8 years of RFPs, where many customers prefer not to receive extraneous materials beyond what's requested in the RFP unless it has a significant impact on their decision. I actually had a few recent RFPs that stated that any unnecessary materials would negatively affect your RFP score (ex: don't just attach boilerplate marketing brochures; respond directly to the questions/requirements instead). Is there a specific industry/buyer profile that tends to respond more positively to the Thank You videos? A lot of my experience is in the public/enterprise sector, so perhaps that's why.
