Currently we do not have the option to upload the same content file to a project; user need version control to upload the same content files in a project.
@Pavithra Devarajan+1 Can you please elaborate on this request? BTW, is this from Customer?
@khalees - Hi - I have a customer RxBenefits who for each new business opportunity RFP has to send 3 different versions of each project response for each 'carrier' they work with, but it's important for project bandwidth to house all 3 versions in just one project. With both legacy and new pricing, losing 3 projects to a single request is going to be non-viable long-term. They've expressed that their long-term solution must have capabilities in this area.
Right now the workaround involves significant manual lift when the output must be Excel-based and UI/Management challenges when outputting to response templates that makes it far less user-friendly than it could be.
Having an easier way to manage multiple versions within a project, that doesn't add a lot of additional mouse clicks for both template-based and source-based output would be HUGE.
@Ian Bartlett Just to confirm I didn't misunderstand, is this what the customer is expecting?
@Ian Bartlett My Understanding is - 3 different answers for same questions. Can we create 3 project templates for each and use it accordingly?
@AJ Sunder
Yes that is at the core of the consideration. The main piece is that it needs to be within a single project and create a pathway for managing different answer versions for each 'carrier' without adding a significant # of clicks to achieve it.
Right now, uploading separate sources (when source export is needed), using section templates to duplicate (when exporting to a template), or using answer type template (when the response fields per question are manageable) seems to be our only recourse for capturing the 3 versions. Answer type template is the closest to an all-purpose option, but that will be unwieldy in projects with a lot of response fields per question and could make for a more complex assignment if many SMEs may need to be involved. And there will likely be projects that challenge the structure of answer type template leading to the need for ongoing buildout to meet requirements. So having a more approachable method would be a benefit.@Khalees V Project templates won't work because they need the 3 versions in a single project for a single opportunity. It will be important as well for new Pricing & Packaging since customers will need to be more controlled with their project usage so as to not use up their annual count on version management.
@Ian Bartlett Got it. As you said, the closest workaround is "Answer Type Template" but it has its disadvantages like "assigning collaborators at the answer level is not possible". This is an interesting problem to solve in future.
