Iron Mountain brought up this idea on our most recent call, I think it makes sense and would give users visibility into total records that need to be updated in the document library.

We have another strategic "Teradata" customer requesting for the same feature.
Current Limitation: The “Blue Dot” icon indicating updated content from Seismic appears only momentarily after clicking “Update from Seismic” and then disappears. Users must open each content item individually to check for updates, making it difficult to quickly identify which items have newer versions.
Proposed Solution: Modify the behavior so that the “Blue Dot” icon remains visible on all content items that have an updated version available from Seismic, until the user has acknowledged or updated the content.
