Manual Sections Correction

I imported an RFI and RFPIO created auto subsections with numbering that doesn't match the RFI outline. I noticed that I can edit question numbering, but not section number. Also, when I changed the numbering on questions to manual, it does not allow me to export into my company template.

Hey Stephanie! To start, you will need to upload your template as a Response Template in Responsive. Once you go to export your Project, change the Source to "Word" and you will see the option to export into your Response Template.

If you'd like to retain the Section Numbers of the Original RFP, there is an option to retain the Section Numbers when Importing the Project on the Import Configuration Page.

The only other thing is that for the sections I manually added afterwards, when I export it gives me this alert. I do have my templates imported. Also, I have to re-import? Meaning I lose my work thus far in order to change the section numbering?

@Stephenie Ortiz The alert is letting you know that the manually added sections will be included in the Export. Are you seeing an error with your numbering upon export?

You can always create a numbering style for your Sections if you are often combining your import/export. Tagging in your CSM @Jody if you'd like to schedule some time to discuss Template Styles!

Hi Helene,

The problem was that my templates did not appear as an option at all during the export. Since the project is time sensitive, I reuploaded the import and started from scratch. My templates are now an option again during export. It seems the system does not allow for manually added sections to be exported. I confirmed this with the technical support via a ticket. I asked if there was another way and that was his response.

I archived the project, but if someone wants to see it to troubleshoot for future projects, we can do that.

Hi Hellen or whoever may help. I have a similar case as Stephanie but I don t even reach step 1 as the values to select from in the advanced options don t offer Retain Section numbers.

Hi @Mathieu Ortiz, please confirm whether you have selected the necessary preferences to retain the section and question numbering. To verify, navigate Organization Settings > Project > Preferences > Advanced Project Configurations > check yes or no towards the Retain section and question numbering.

@Stephenie Ortiz I guess you've figured it out by now, but just in case, I would like to clarify.

When exporting a project, the tool exports the responses to the source file, which is the file used to import requirements in the Responsive Project.

However, Section Templates or Manual Sections cannot be exported in the source file. There is no configuration instructing the tool where and how to export them.
They are exported in a Template, such as the Responsive's Word default Template or any other Word Template uploaded in the Templates section (under the 9 dots cube menu, on the top right corner of any window).

This is why the tool notifies us that the added Sections not imported from the source file will be exported to the Template file.

When creating a Word Template, the following phrase, albeit grammatically incorrect, must be included on a page where we want the Manual and/or Section templates to be exported.
