Hello. I work for a health IT company and curious how folks find new RFPs to complete. Appreciate any advice.
I'm sure you've done this already but just running a simple Google search for "where can I source healthcare RFPs" gave me a ton of great places to check.
Any Healthcare or Health IT folks that can share anything?
Public portals such as BidNetDirect, etc. often have postings for public entities. Many healthcare companies work through buying groups such as Premera, so we've reached out to them before. Oftentimes, if you get a foot in the door with one of the companies in the portfolio/buying group, it opens up everything else.
Ensuring that your SAM.gov and other types of public registrations are up to date is a big part of getting notified of public contracts. Certain portals require your NAICS and other information that allows them to identify you as a potential partner for a project, and when they send out the RFP they only send it to those that have the correct NAICS or other codes tied to their account.
Government bids are much easier to find as they have specific regulations and requirements to notify the public. However, private companies don't fall under these rules, so they are less likely to publicly share their opportunities. I always encouraged my sales team to document the link(s) to their client's purchasing sites/portals so they could easily check for opportunities on a regular basis. Also, make sure your target clients are receiving information about your company and offerings on a regular basis so they think of you when they issue an applicable RFP. Here are 2 great articles with additional resources on how to find open RFPs. https://www.thebidlab.com/learning-center/2018-12-13-where-can-i-find-an-rfp/
