How do people use Annotations?

Hi - I'm trying to transition a team from using MS Word and the comment function (ability to highlight specific words, sentences or paragraphs) is a key benefit of MS Word.

The comment functionality in RFPIO is only against an entire response, so I was looking at the Annotations feature. Do people use this and what would you say are key benefits over and above MS Word? Or drawbacks?

There are a few big benefits to using RFPIO annotations vs. commenting in word:

The annotations are created in the platform so anyone can reference them without needing a copy of the export. Having annotations centralized in the platform creates easier access for your team to view them.
There are several different ways to apply them. This article from the Help Center will explain all the annotation options and how they differ from one another.
If you choose to add an annotation as a comment then the annotated text will export as a comment in Word. This means you can do all of the commenting you would do in Word in RFPIO.

Something to keep in mind is that you can't use the annotation feature to "@" other users in the platform like you can in the comments.

Is it possible to export a compiled list of annotations within a project? I understand "comment" will export into word and "internal" will not, but was hoping there is a way for the team to view and mark annotations as resolved within the project. Something similar to "Discussions" or "Project Notes".
